§ Elections · Article XII · Houston 2027

Run for office. Five steps.

All seven Executive Committee offices are elected at the Houston 2027 Convention, Friday, September 3 to Sunday, September 5, 2027. This page walks you through the Constitution's steps, in order, with nothing added.

The application window opens by Wednesday, March 3, 2027, or earlier if the Electoral Officers announce it.

§ The five steps

From interest to the Oath of Office.

02Check

Check your eligibility. It takes a minute.

The rules are the same for every office (Article XII §12.2). Answer the questions for an instant result; nothing is sent.

Have you served in a position in your Region (an officer role or a recognised committee leadership role) for at least one year in the past five years?

For example Regional President, Secretary, Treasurer, or chair of a Region committee.

Are you a member in good standing of a recognized INC-USA Region?

Your Region can confirm this. At-Large Affiliate Participants cannot hold national office unless they belong to a recognized Region.

Can you get a written endorsement from your Region?

Usually from your Regional President or Region Secretary. You do not need it in hand to start the form.

Will you sign the Candidate Eligibility and Conflict-of-Interest Declaration?

It confirms your eligibility and discloses any interest that could conflict with the office (Appendix N).

Are you currently a Regional President?

This does not stop you applying.

Answer all five questions to see your result. Nothing you choose here is sent anywhere.

03Apply

Apply online. About 15 to 20 minutes.

The Candidate Information Form goes to the President and the Secretariat as a PDF, and you get your own copy by email and download. Your answers save on your device as you type.

Have ready: your Regional service and dates, your education, your plan for the office, any interests to disclose, and the name and email of your Regional President or Region Secretary.

04Endorse

Region endorsement. In writing.

Your Region must endorse your candidacy in writing (Article XII §12.2). Talk to your Regional President or Region Secretary first. On the form you give their name and email; the Secretariat follows up with them to request and confirm the endorsement. Nothing is sent to them automatically.

05Elect

Candidate forum, then the vote.

The Electoral Officers verify your eligibility and publish the list of eligible candidates. A town-hall candidate forum is held before any vote, with equal time for every candidate. At the Convention, voting is by open roll call: each Region's delegate states its vote. Results are certified, and the new officers take the Oath of Office and receive the handover at the Post-Convention Board Meeting.

The other path: floor nomination.

How it works

  • During the Election Session, only credentialed Regional voting delegates may nominate from the floor.
  • Another Region must second the nomination.
  • The nominee accepts aloud and completes the eligibility declaration before appearing on the ballot.
  • Nominations close when voting starts.

Why apply early anyway

The application path is the primary route. The Electoral Officers may decline a floor nomination if eligibility cannot be confirmed promptly, and late applicants are accepted only if verification will not delay proceedings (Appendix C §C3, §C5). Applying early gets you verified and on the published list before the forum.
