§ For physicians · Pillar 01 · Iwere Care

Practice without borders.
Two hours a week.

We are not asking you to move. Two hours a week from your kitchen in Houston, Oakland, or Atlanta is the unit that holds the program up. We credential you, cover malpractice, log CME, route the cases. You practice the medicine you already know.

§ 01 · Why volunteer

Six reasons we hear in every intake call.

From A volunteer diaspora physician
(founding clinical lead)
§ 01

Practice where it matters

The Niger Delta has roughly one physician per 6,500 people. One hour of your time on Zoom replaces a three-day road trip to Lagos for a grandmother in Omadino. Practice where the need is concentrated, not diluted.

§ 02

Two hours a week

The entire volunteer commitment is two hours per week — a single evening block or two morning hours on Saturday, your choice. The platform rotates case volume to keep you at exactly that load, not more.

§ 03

Credentialing once

We handle MDCN verification, state-license confirmation in the US, malpractice coverage under our umbrella policy, and the 1-hour HIPAA + platform training. You file once; we maintain.

§ 04

CME credits

Every consult logs automatically toward AAFP, AMA, and ABIM continuing-medical-education credit. At a typical 2-hr/wk cadence, that’s enough to cover most state renewal cycles.

§ 05

Malpractice covered

The program is covered under a supplementary umbrella malpractice policy vetted by our outside counsel, specific to telemedicine practice across state lines and into Nigeria. Nothing lands on your personal policy.

§ 06

Colleagues, not a queue

You join 50+ diaspora physicians — A volunteer diaspora physician (Internal, Houston), A volunteer diaspora physician (Family, Oakland), A volunteer diaspora physician (Peds, Austin), A volunteer diaspora physician (OB-GYN, Palo Alto), and more. Monthly grand rounds over Zoom. A WhatsApp channel that is unapologetically collegial.
