Emergency Relief Drive .

The drive that doesn't have a calendar. When the Forcados floods or fuel shocks displace a community, the Patrons Council activates and every Region pivots to relief.

§ 01 · The Drive

Why emergency relief drive?

Emergency Relief is the drive we hope to run as rarely as possible. The Niger Delta floods in 2022 and the recurring fuel shocks of 2024–2025 made clear that the diaspora needs a pre-built activation pathway — not a fundraiser started from zero on the worst day of the year.

Article 13 of the ratified Constitution gives the Patrons Council the authority to activate Emergency Relief on a 60% supermajority vote. Once activated, every Region's monthly remittance pivots, the donate page surfaces an emergency banner, and a 14-day reporting clock starts.

The numbers that make this drive matter

  • Disasters don't wait for a quarterly calendar. The first 72 hours are the highest-leverage window for diaspora dollars.
  • Pre-built activation prevents Region-by-Region duplication and donor confusion.
  • Article 13 stewardship binds the floor: 95¢ of every emergency dollar reaches relief, max 5¢ admin.
