Back-to-School Drive .
Notebooks, pens, school uniforms, sandals, backpacks, calculators. The basic kit a child needs to walk into school on the first day with everyone else.
Why back-to-school drive?
The Back-to-School Drive aims at one stubborn fact: in a household that's choosing between food and notebooks, the notebooks lose. Children turn up to a Primary 4 classroom with one shared exercise book between three siblings, or no school sandals, and absorb the lesson that they are different from their peers before the teacher opens the textbook.
We pack age-banded school kits in the diaspora — Primary 1–3, Primary 4–6, JSS, SSS — and ship them to Iwere Land for distribution by school principals and the Pillar 02 Education committee.
The numbers that make this drive matter
- Nigeria uses Primary (1–6), JSS (1–3), and SSS (1–3) — not US K-12 — and supplies are priced per child, per term.
- A complete Primary kit (uniform, sandals, notebooks, pens, schoolbag) costs roughly $35 delivered in Warri.
- School-uniform absence is the #1 reported reason for first-week absenteeism in Warri South LGA.
